Users retain control of their data, with options to request access, updates, or deletion via a support page or in-app account deletion.

What this policy covers:
This policy applies to the "RecipeBun iOS app and pages where it appears."
1. Data we collect
We collect the following categories of data, which are linked to your user account:
• **Contact Info:** Sign in with Apple identifier + internal user ID — to create accounts, provide support, and send critical notices.
• **Preferences:** Display name, language, unit system, optional dietary notes (free-text) — to personalize your experience.
• **User Content:** Recipes, images/links, grocery items, meal plans, tags, embeddings for search — to provide core app functionality.
• **Identifiers & Device Info:** Device model, OS version — for app functionality, diagnostics, and security.
• **Usage Data & Crash Data (optional):** App performance and crash reports — to improve stability and features.
We describe these categories consistently with Apple's App Privacy taxonomy. See App Store listing for details.
We do not collect health data, precise location, contacts, or payment info.

3. Sharing & selling

Vendors acting as processors (e.g., Supabase for database/storage; optional crash tools) process data only to operate the app for RecipeBun.
4. Tracking/ads

If features requiring tracking are added, ATT (App Tracking Transparency) permission will be requested.
5. Storage & security
Hosted on Supabase (managed Postgres + storage).
Uses RLS (Row-Level Security) and transport encryption.
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your data. We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above (or as required by law), then delete or anonymize it.
Acknowledges no method is perfectly secure but states "reasonable safeguards" are used.
6. Your choices & deletion
Users can export, edit, or delete their data in-app.
**Account Deletion Process:** In the app → Profile → Account → Delete Account.
Associated data will be removed unless law requires minimal retention.
Users can also email support@recipebun.com for deletion.
7. Children
"Not directed to children under 13 (or local equivalent)."
If RecipeBun learns they have data from children, they will delete it.
8. Region rights (GDPR/CCPA)
Users "may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object."
